Leviticus 1:5
He shall kill the bull before the Lord;
and the priests, Aaron’s sons, shall bring the blood all around on the altar
that is by the door of the tabernacle of meeting.
When the
children of Israel were in the wilderness, God instructed them to set up a
tabernacle as a place of meeting between Him and them. Near the door of the
tabernacle was an altar. It speaks of the claims God makes on the righteousness
of man. For this reason, an offering had to be killed, its blood sprinkled all
around on the altar and its body burnt on the altar before one was counted
worthy to go into God’s presence.
The
sprinkling of the blood of a bull or goat all around on that altar meant that
the Israelites were under the covering of the blood of that animal. Even when
they sinned, their sins were covered by the blood until the next sacrifice.
The blood
speaks of Jesus’ blood shed for us at the cross. Yet, His blood is worth so
much more than the blood of bulls and goats because His blood is effective
forever! In fact, His blood has met every single claim of God on man to the
point that God is so completely satisfied that He now enjoys the savor of rest
in what His Son has done.
You too can
rest knowing that God is fully satisfied with you because of Christ’s perfect
sacrifice. Even if you fall into sin, you can turn to the blood of Jesus. Your
sins are not merely covered by His blood, like how the blood of bulls
and goats covered sins. No, your sins have been washed away by His blood!
(Revelation 1:5) In fact, your sins and lawless deeds God remembers no more!
(Hebrews 8:12; 10:17)
Jesus was
your perfect offering placed on the altar of sacrifice. By just one offering of
Himself, “He hath perfected forever them that are sanctified”. (Hebrews 10:14,
KJV) Jesus has not only sanctified you or made you holy, He has perfected you
forever! Today, you can enter boldly into God’s presence because He sees you
the way He sees Jesus. He sees you perfected forever because you are in Christ!
Thought For The Day
Jesus has
not only sanctified you or made you holy, He has perfected you forever!
Joy in the Waiting

Key Scripture: Proverbs 16:9
“A man’s mind plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps and makes them sure."
“A man’s mind plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps and makes them sure."
We think and plan in temporal terms,
and God thinks and plans in eternal terms. What this means is that we are very
interested in right now, and God is much more interested in eternity. We want
what “feels good” right now, what produces immediate results, but God is
willing to invest time. In fact, God is an investor; He will invest a lot of
time in us because He has an eternal purpose planned for our lives.
God sees and understands what we don’t
see and understand. He asks us to trust Him, not to live in constant reasoning
and be frustrated because things don’t always go according to our plan.
Without abundant trust in God, we will
never experience joy and enjoyment. We have ideas about how and when things
should happen. Not only does God have a clearly defined plan for our lives, He
also has the perfect timing for each phase. Psalm 31:15 assures us that our
times are in His hands. Fighting and resisting the timing of God is equivalent
to fighting His will.
Often, we fail to realize that being
out of God’s timing is the same thing as being out of His will. We may know
what God wants us to do, but not when He wants us to do it.
Final Thoughts and Action Items
Once God speaks to us or shows us
something, we are filled up with it. It’s as though we are “pregnant” with what
God has said. It is very much like the birth of a child. First, the seed is
planted in the womb, then come the nine months of waiting, and finally, a baby
is born. During those nine months, there is a great deal happening—but
everything on the inside is hidden from view.
And just like parents are “expectant”,
they aren’t just standing still—a lot of preparation is happening—they are very
active! Clothes are being bought, nurseries are being painted, even routes to
the hospital are being carefully planned. Essentially, this time of “waiting”
is filled with joy because of what’s to come. I think this is what God is
looking for out of His kids. That although the promises haven’t quite been born
yet, we are in the active state of preparation, eagerly anticipating what’s to
come. That we rely on His timing to fulfill the thing He’s promised for our
lives.
Action Items
1. What
are some of the things God has promised to you and how are you in the active
state of waiting?
2. Are
you not just waiting on those things, waiting on God’s timing, but are choosing
to live in a state of joy?
3. What
other ways can you decide to enjoy the life Christ died to give you? Look up
scriptures regarding what it means to live in God’s will and how you can be a
successful Christian.
He Has another Seed for You

TODAY'S
SCRIPTURE:
(Genesis 4:25, NKJV)
"…For God has appointed another seed for me…"
"…For God has appointed another seed for me…"
TODAY'S WORD:
In Genesis, Eve went through a great
disappointment. Her son Cain killed her son Abel, the first murder in the
Bible. I’m sure Eve, like any mother, was devastated and heartbroken at the
passing of her son. But I love what Eve said in Genesis 4:25, “God has
appointed another seed for me.” In essence, she was saying, “I don’t understand
it. It doesn’t make sense, but I trust God. This is not the end. He has
appointed another seed.”
Friend, when you go through things that you don’t understand, it is not the end. Nothing is lost in the kingdom. God is going to appoint another seed, and that seed represents the future. It indicates what is coming. If you will let go of what didn’t work out, let go of the hurt and pain, then for everything you’ve lost, God will appoint another seed. You’ll give birth to more in the future than you lost in the past. Keep praying, keep believing, keep hoping because God is for you. Trust Him and embrace the good things He has in store for your future!

PRAYER FOR
TODAY:
Father God, You are the giver of all
life! You give life to my dreams, life to my relationships, and life to my
mortal body. Today I choose to release the past and embrace the gift of life
You have in store for my future in Jesus’ name. Amen.

For the trumpet will
sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

Richard and Catherine
Dotson, both born in 1797, were married for fifty years. Catherine died in 1877
and Richard in 1884. They were buried in the family cemetery in Savannah,
Georgia. During World War II, an airport was built nearby; and after the war, a
runway was built through the cemetery. Most of the graves were moved, but the
Dotson family refused permission for their ancestors to be exhumed. So the
runway was built over their graves, and markers were placed in the runway
honoring their remains. That’s why Savannah has the only airport in the world
with grave markers embedded in its runway.
On reflection, we can see
the appropriateness of that. For Christians, our cemetery plots are not our
final resting places. They are the runways or launching pads from which we’ll
be caught heavenward when Christ returns. The resurrection of the body will be
sudden, literal, physical, and glorious. We’ll be snatched up into the clouds
to meet the Lord in the air.
Without death, there would
be no resurrection. That’s why death holds no terror for the Christian. We’re
living on a higher plane.
Our resurrection bodies
will never wear out or grow old. Your new body will be designed for eternity.
It will not be subject to accident, disease, aging, or death. It will never wear
out and never die; it will outlive the stars.
