THE HEAD AND BODY ARE ONE
By Joseph Prince – Posted June 16, 2017
Colossians 1:18
And He is the head of the body, the
church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things
He may have the preeminence.
God’s Word
says that Christ is the head and we the church are His body. So Christ and the
church are one. Christ and you are one! You cannot say that God sees
Christ the head perfect but His body imperfect. Or that Christ is accepted but
His body not accepted. The measure of Jesus’ acceptance with God is the measure
of your acceptance with God!
So it makes
no sense to say that the head is well but the body sick, that the head is rich
but the body in lack, or that the head is at rest but the body full of stress.
My friend, what Jesus is before God, you His body are. As He is, so are you in
this world! (1 John 4:17)
Today, God
wants you to lay claim on Christ being your head. Start believing that all His
perfections, and the delight and joy that He brings to the Father’s heart, He
has set to your account. And you will begin to realize that as Jesus is a
sweet-smelling aroma to the Father, so are you!
The more you
begin to see that you are one with Christ, the more you will realize that
whatever you need right now, He is dispensing to you. If you are sick in your
body, Christ your head imparts His health and healing to you. If you lack
wisdom, Christ your head freely imparts His wisdom to you. If you have any
lack, Christ your head gives you His exceeding riches.
Beloved,
have this rich revelation that Christ and you are one. You can never be
separated from Christ your head from whom comes all the supply for your
body—all the power, wisdom, provision and health. So declare, “As He is, so am
I in this world!”
Thought For The Day
The measure
of Jesus’ acceptance with God is the measure of your acceptance with God!
God’s Mercy Is New Every Day

It is because of the Lord’s mercy and loving-kindness that we are
not consumed, because His [tender] compassions fail not. They are new every
morning; great and abundant is Your stability and faithfulness.

One of the things we can praise God for
daily with a heart full of gratitude is that He is determined to have an
intimate relationship with each of us. The only way He can do that is if He
extends grace, mercy, and forgiveness to us continually. And the only way we
can have that relationship with Him is if we learn to continually receive His
grace, forgiveness, and mercy.
In case you are wondering, you have not
used up all of God’s mercy for you. There is still an abundant amount available
to you, and there will be as long as you live. God’s mercy is new every day!
And it is a gift that can only be enjoyed if it is received freely. So thank
God for His mercy today, live boldly by His grace, and be all He created you to
be.
Prayer of Thanks: Father, thank You for Your mercy, Your compassion, and Your
loving-kindness that never fails. I celebrate Your goodness today, and I am so
grateful that I can have a personal, intimate relationship with You.

TODAY'S
SCRIPTURE:
"How precious to me are your
thoughts, God! How vast is the sum of them!"
(Psalm 139:17, NIV)
(Psalm 139:17, NIV)
TODAY'S WORD:
Have you ever had difficulty receiving
from God because you thought, “God has better things on His mind,” or “This
isn’t that important to Him”? It may be tempting to let your mind wander in
that direction, but the truth is that nothing is more important to God than you
are! Every detail of your life matters to Him. Scripture tells us that He even
counts the very hairs on your head. He bottles your tears and holds them as
precious. You are important to Him, and nothing that concerns you is too big or
too small for God!
Today, if you’ve had those discouraging thoughts come to mind, replace them by declaring the truth of God’s Word. Declare, “God’s thoughts are precious toward me. I am always on God’s mind. He loves me and I matter to Him.” As you begin to replace the negative thoughts with the truth, your life will begin to change. You will see a transformation in your thinking. You’ll feel His love like you never have before; you will know Him in ways you’ve never known Him before, and you’ll experience His goodness and grace all the days of your life!

PRAYER FOR
TODAY:
Father God, how awesome You are! How
great is Your love! Help me to receive Your love so that I may know You more.
Thank You for perfecting everything that concerns me as I daily cast my cares
on You in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Set your mind on things
above….
Colossians 3:2
Colossians 3:2
Recommended Reading: Colossians 3:1-4
What difference does heaven
make? Consider two people who lived across the street from each other. One man
thought about heaven all the time—especially when the setting sun turned the
sky into a painting. On such evenings, he would sit on his porch and think
about heaven. He studied the topic of heaven in the Bible and often went to bed
visualizing the scenes recorded in Revelation 21 and 22 about heavenly Zion.
But the man’s neighbor never thought of heaven. He busied himself with his
work, his family, his hobbies, and his golf game—never pausing to think about
his eternal future.
These two men lived on the
same street, but in different worlds. One man’s interest was on things below;
the other man’s mind was on things above.
Which of the two men lived
most happily? Which was most productive? Which busied himself with optimistic
works of goodness? Which lived with promise, perseverance, and purpose? It’s
not hard to guess. Those who think the most about heaven do the greatest work
on earth. Keeping heaven on our minds keeps hope in our hearts and the Gospel
in our mouths.
Heavenly-mindedness is
sanity. It is the best regimen for keeping our hearts whole, our minds clear…”
