THE SON’S HEARTBEAT FOR YOU
By Joseph Prince – Posted June 10, 2017
3 John 1:2, KJV
Beloved, I wish above all things that
thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.
Let’s say
that you are now in your nineties. Someone comes along and asks you, “Sir, you
have been a Christian for a very long time. You have seen much and done much
with God by your side. You have prayed all kinds of prayers too. So what would
you place as top priority when you pray for people?”
I believe
the apostle John was asked a similar question and his reply was, “Beloved, I
wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy
soul prospereth.” When the apostle John wrote 3 John, he was already a very old
man and probably the only disciple of the original 12 who was still alive. It
had been so long ago since he last walked alongside his beloved Lord, and
witnessed His crucifixion, resurrection and ascension.
The apostle
John had also leaned on the Lord’s bosom on the night of the Last Supper. And I
believe that there on Jesus’ bosom, he must have felt the heartbeat of the Son
of God—that loving and compassionate heartbeat which had caused Him to go about
“doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil”. (Acts 10:38) In
fact, two-thirds of Jesus’ ministry on earth had to do with healing the sick.
And now,
nearing the end of his life, and after all he had heard, seen and experienced,
the apostle John prioritized, above all things, health as well as holistic
prosperity. He said, “I wish above all things that you prosper and be in
health, even as your soul prospers.” He knew the Lord’s heartbeat. He knew that
the Lord wants and will always want these for His people.
Jesus had
prioritized divine healing during His earthly ministry. And Jesus, who is “the
same yesterday, today, and forever” (Hebrews 13:8), will do the same for you
today. His heart still beats for you. He will never miss an opportunity to do
good to you, to heal you of your broken body, emotional scars and weary spirit,
and to bless you!
Thought For The Day
The Lord
wants and will always want health and wholeness for His people.
Guard Your Reactions

He who rebukes a scorner heaps upon himself abuse, and he who
reproves a wicked man gets for himself bruises. Reprove not a scorner, lest he
hate you; reprove a wise man, and he will love you. Give instruction to a wise
man and he will be yet wiser….

It has been statistically proven that
10 percent of people will never like you, so stop trying to have a perfect
record with everyone and start celebrating who you are. A person who knows how
to live independently does not allow the moods of other people to alter hers.
A story is told of a Quaker man who
knew how to live independently as the valued person God had created Him to be.
One night as he was walking down the street with a friend, he stopped at a
newsstand to purchase an evening paper. The storekeeper was very sour, rude,
and unfriendly. The Quaker man treated him with respect and was quite kind in
his dealing with him. He paid for his paper, and he and his friend continued to
walk down the street. The friend said to the Quaker, “How could you be so
cordial to him with the terrible way he was treating you?” The Quaker man
replied, “Oh, he is always that way. Why should I let him determine how I am
going to act?”
Lord, help me to not allow others to steal my joy and peace by the
things they say and do. I want to be kind and cordial, but I won’t let my mood
to be controlled. Amen.
Make Room

TODAY'S
SCRIPTURE:
"A good man leaves an inheritance
to his children’s children, but the wealth of the sinner is stored up for the
righteous."
Proverbs 13:22, NIV

TODAY'S WORD:
Notice, God has already laid up
contracts, houses, businesses, promotions and good breaks. They already have
your name on them. If you’ll keep honoring God and making room for them, then
eventually they will find their way into your hands—the hands of the righteous.
That means right now something is headed your direction; not bad breaks, not disappointments, not lack, not mediocrity. If you have accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, then you are the righteous! Increase is looking for you. Favor is looking for you. Good breaks are looking for you!
My question is, are you making room for it? Are you taking off the limits in your thinking? Are you preparing for increase? Get rid of any old thoughts that are telling you, “You’ve gone as far as you can. You never get any good breaks. This sounds good today, but this is not for you. This is for everybody else. You’ve made too many mistakes. You come from the wrong family.” There will always be voices that try to talk you out of it. When you look at it in the natural, your own thoughts may tell you, “It’s impossible. There’s no way.” But that’s when you have to rise up in faith and embrace His promises so you can make room for the blessings He has in store for you.

PRAYER FOR
TODAY:
Father, today I take the limits off and
open my heart to You. I believe Your Word and believe that You have blessing
and provision prepared for me. I receive it by faith today in Jesus’ name.
Amen.
Streets, Paths, and
Roads—Straight Paths

In all your ways acknowledge
Him, and He shall direct your paths.
Proverbs 3:6
Proverbs 3:6
San Francisco is one of
America’s most beautiful cities, with its majestic bay, iconic bridges, and
panoramic views in every direction. Yet many tourists head to one little street
as soon as they arrive in town—Lombard Street, claimed to be the most crooked
street in the world. This one steep block boasts eight hairpin turns.
Picturesque as it is, residents are none too happy with the endless line of
cars inching down the hill in a nonstop procession day and night.
Recommended Reading: Proverbs 3:1-6
Lombard Street is fun to
see, but none of us wants a life full of steep declines, hairpin turns, and
crooked routes. The Bible often uses words like road and path to
describe the journey of life, and Jesus told us to look for the straight and
narrow path (Matthew 7:13-14).
We cannot know the future,
but our God knows every tomorrow before the sun comes up. The residents of
Lombard Street can fend for themselves, but for the rest of us—let’s live at
356 Proverbs Street: “Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your
own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths
straight” (Proverbs 3:5-6, NIV).
Discovering God’s will
for your life does not result from deal making with the Almighty, but begins
instead with surrender.
