BE ANXIOUS FOR NOTHING
By Joseph Prince – Posted June 3, 2017
Philippians 4:6-7
Be anxious for nothing, but in
everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be
made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding,
will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
When faced
with a challenge or crisis, our tendency is to get all anxious about it. But
God does not want us to react this way. He does not want us to be anxious about
anything. Instead, whatever the problem is, He wants us to go to Him in prayer
and supplication, telling Him what we need and thanking Him for the answer.
When we do that, His peace, which surpasses all understanding, will guard our
hearts and minds from all worries, anxieties and fears.
“Pastor
Prince, it is easy for you to say, ‘Be anxious for nothing.’ Try living with my
husband for one day. Try disciplining that wayward teenager of mine. Look at
the balance in my bank account! How can I not be anxious?”
Hold it! I
am not the one who said, “Be anxious for nothing.” The apostle Paul said it.
Yet, it was not him—he was prompted by the Holy Spirit. And when Paul wrote
that, he was a prisoner under house arrest in Rome. He had been sent to Rome
because he had appealed to Caesar regarding his death sentence. The Jews in
Jerusalem wanted him to be put to death. (Acts 28:16–20)
Yet, under
those trying conditions, he wrote these words: “Be anxious for nothing, but in
everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be
made known to God.”
My friend,
if you are anxious or worried about something, remember those words. Let’s say
that you are anxious about a huge debt. Go to the Lord and pray, “Lord Jesus, I
no longer want to be anxious about this problem. I hand it over to You and ask
for supernatural cancellation of this debt. It is in Your care now. You are in
charge. I thank You for taking care of it.”
God is true
to His Word. As you pray this prayer and cast your care to Him, you will find
His peace setting your heart and mind at rest. So be anxious for nothing—let
the One with whom nothing is impossible take care of it for you!
Thought For The Day
Cast your
cares to God in prayer, and find His peace setting your heart and mind at rest.
God Is on Your Side

For the Lord takes pleasure in His people; He will beautify the
humble with salvation and adorn the wretched with victory.
—Psalm 149:4 AMPC
—Psalm 149:4 AMPC
If you never face trials, you will
never have to exercise your faith. But even when facing hard times, you
shouldn’t dread life. Isaiah 8:13 (AMPC) says, The Lord of hosts—regard Him as
holy and honor His holy name [by regarding Him as your only hope of safety],
and let Him be your fear and let Him be your dread [lest you offend Him by your
fear of man and distrust of Him].
If you dread life and fear people, you
are not trusting the Lord to save you. Keep your reverential fear and awe of
God; dread displeasing Him, but don’t fear anything else. If God is for you,
who can be against you? No, in all these things we are more than conquerors
through him who loved us (Romans 8:37 NIV).
Dig Deeper

TODAY'S
SCRIPTURE:
"So let's not get tired of doing
what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we
don't give up."
Galatians 6:9, NLT
Galatians 6:9, NLT
TODAY'S WORD:
I read that back in the 1800’s some
explorers were going across a huge desert and didn’t bring enough water. They
started digging at different spots underneath the surface about a foot or two
trying to find water. They ended up losing their lives in the desert because of
a lack of water. Many years later, it was discovered that there was water right
there where they had lost their lives about three feet underground. If they
would have just dug down a little bit further, they would have found the water
and saved their lives.
The same principle is true when you’re in a dry season and not getting any good breaks, business is slow, or you’re struggling in a relationship. It’s easy to think, “This is never going to change. I’m never going to see my dreams come to pass.” No, just like those early explorers, water is there. Provision is there. You just have to dig down a little bit deeper. If you will shake off the self-pity, shake off what didn’t work out, shake off the complacency and turn up your praise, you’ll soon tap in to the blessing and provision He has prepared for you!

PRAYER FOR
TODAY:
Father God, thank You for Your
provision and blessing in my life. I know that You are making a way even when I
don’t see a way. Help me to stand strong in You so that I may see the harvest
of blessing You have prepared for me in Jesus’ name. Amen.
Streets, Paths, and Roads—Golden Streets
By DR. David Jeremiah – Posted June 3, 2017
And
the street of the city was pure gold.
Revelation 21:21
Revelation 21:21
South of
Cairo, travelers can walk about seven miles to a harbor on Lake Qarun. This
little stretch of roadway has the distinction of being the oldest paved road in
the world. People have been treading it for 4,600 years. It’s one of several
ancient roads that still exist and conjure up feelings of wonder. Think of the
Silk Road that traversed Asia, the Appian Way outside Rome, and the Inca Road
system that linked South America and created an empire. Civilization needs
roadways, and some of them are breathtakingly beautiful and even enchanting.

But none
of these roads are as beautiful, enduring, breathtaking, or dazzling as the
golden boulevard that links the neighborhoods of New Jerusalem. In Revelation
21:18, we’re told that the entire city is constructed of “pure gold, like clear
glass.” Verse 21 adds, “And the street of the city was pure gold, like transparent glass.”
Those are
visual terms, and the Lord revealed this information so we can begin to picture
heaven in advance and anticipate its glories. If you’re taking to the road
today, look at that black asphalt beneath your tires and compare it with the
glory to be revealed. Your heart will glisten.
What
wonderful visions of beauty, what glorious scenes shall unfold; / And what
dazzling splendors surround me, when I walk up the streets of gold.
