RELEASE THE POWER IN YOU!
By Joseph Prince – Posted June 8, 2017
Ephesians 3:20
Now to Him who is able to do
exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power
that works in us,
How much
power is working in you right now? God’s Word says that there is “power that
works in us”. It is a tremendous power that shakes the heavens and the earth
because it comes from the throne of God, “who is able to do exceedingly
abundantly above all that we ask or think”! The problem, however, is that many
of us don’t release that power.
God wants us
to release that power because there are things that will not happen on earth
until we do so. Jesus said that “whatever you bind on earth will be bound in
heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven”. (Matthew
16:19) What Jesus is saying is that what you permit to happen, heaven will
permit. What you disallow, heaven will disallow!
So how do we
release God’s power in us? One way is to pray in tongues. When we allow His
Spirit to make intercession for us (Romans 8:26), miracles happen.
Some time
ago, the aunt of a church member underwent surgery to remove a diseased kidney.
In spite of the surgery, the prognosis was poor. At home, the church member and
his wife were prompted by the Spirit to release the power that works in them by
praying in tongues for their aunt.
Back at the
hospital, the aunt underwent further observation. When an X-ray of her
abdominal area was taken, the doctor was shocked to find two healthy kidneys.
Five other doctors were consulted who subsequently examined the aunt. At first,
they thought that the surgeon who had performed the operation had made a
mistake and did not remove the diseased kidney. But further investigation
showed that the kidney had indeed been removed. They could not explain what had
happened.
But the
church member and his wife needed no explanation because they knew that when
they released the power that worked in them, God did exceedingly abundantly
above all that they could ask or think—He gave their aunt a new kidney.
Beloved, He
can do the same for you when you pray in the Spirit and release the power that
works in you!
Thought For The Day
When we
allow the Holy Spirit to make intercession for us by praying in tongues,
miracles happen.
Loving the Life of Simplicity

Key Scripture: Luke 10: 41,42
“And Jesus answered and said to her, Martha, Martha, you are worried and troubled about many things. But one thing is needed…”
“And Jesus answered and said to her, Martha, Martha, you are worried and troubled about many things. But one thing is needed…”
I had to come to a place in my life
where God had me focus on the idea of simplicity, and I suspect it may be the
same for you. During this time, I was very complicated in most everything I
did. I could not even entertain friends without complicating it.
Not only were my actions complicated
but also my thought processes. I complicated my relationship with God because I
had a legalistic approach to righteousness. To me, life itself was complicated.
I felt that I had a lot of complex problems, and I didn’t realize they were
that way only because my approach to life was complicated. And when we are
complicated inside, then everything else in life seems that way.
James 1:6 says, “The double-minded
(complicated, bewildered) man is unstable in all his ways…”
For years, I sought for many
things—answers to my situations, healing, success in my ministry, changes in my
family, etc. Finally, I learned about the “one thing” I was supposed to be
seeking. And what was that one thing?
Psalm 27:4 gives us the answer. “One
thing have I asked of the Lord, that will I seek, inquire for and [insistently]
require: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord [in His presence] all the
days of my life, to behold and gaze upon the beauty of the Lord and to
meditate, consider, and inquire in His temple.”
We make it overly complex, but it
really is simple. The “one thing” is spending time with God and to look to Him
for everything we need. It is the “seek first the kingdom of God” strategy that
leads to the rest of fulfillment in our lives.
No matter what you face, if you ask God
what the simple approach would be, I believe you will be amazed at the ideas
you’ll get from Him to help solve them. The Holy One lives in you and although
He is awesomely powerful, He is also awesomely simple. The Holy Spirit will
teach you simplicity if you truly want to learn.
Final Thoughts and Action Items
I think it’s important to end with
this. On the road to making decisions, whether that’s to refuse to regret or
dread, or even to choose simplicity, you will make mistakes along the
way—you’ll not always get it right. But here is the beautiful thing about that:
no one learns to hear from God without making those mistakes. Don’t be overly
concerned about errors. Don’t take yourself too seriously. Learn from your
mistakes, correct the ones you can and move forward.
Action Items
1.
What are a couple areas in your life (in
relationships, decisions or career) that you are over-complicating?
2.
Make the calculated decision to choose
simplicity. Today, as you encounter various circumstances, ask God to help you
locate the simplest route to fix it.

TODAY'S
SCRIPTURE:
"...Neither do I concern myself
with great matters, nor with things too profound for me."
(Psalm 131:1, NKJV)

TODAY'S
WORD:
When things happen in your life that
you don’t plan, do you find yourself trying to reason it all out, or looking
for a place to file it all in your mind? What happens when you can’t find a
“file” to put it in? What if you can’t make sense of it all?
Here’s the answer: Every one of us needs to create a file in our thinking called an “I Don’t Understand It” file. When things come up that don’t make sense or you can’t figure out, instead of getting frustrated or confused, simply put it in your “I Don’t Understand It” file and leave it alone. Especially at this time of year. Don’t start the New Year off with old frustrations. Don’t carry bitterness into your season of new beginnings. Don’t put a question mark where God has placed a period. Trust that He is good. Trust that He is working things out for your good. Keep believing, keep praying, keep hoping for the future. Let go of what didn’t work out in the past and get ready for the new season God has for you.

PRAYER
FOR TODAY:
Father, today I surrender my questions;
I surrender my past; I surrender my need to have all the answers. Today I
choose to trust that You have all the answers, and You will reveal all things
in time in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Beloved, now we are
children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know
that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is.

Recommended Reading: Romans 8:28-29
According to the American
Society of Plastic Surgeons, there were 15.9 million cosmetic procedures
performed in the U.S. in 2015. The president of the ASPS said, “Patients have
more options than ever … to achieve the look they desire.”1
This desire arises from
societal pressures for “a new look.” One of the characteristics of life in our
fallen world is being tired of the status quo—especially when it has to do with
our personal lives, even our appearance. But that won’t be true in heaven
because we will have a new body. Just as Jesus exchanged mortality for
immortality via His resurrection, we will do the same (1 Corinthians 15:50-54).
God’s purpose for His children is that they should “be conformed
to the image of His Son” (Romans 8:29). There was something markedly different
about Jesus after His resurrection—yet He still had flesh and bones and was
able to eat (Luke 24:36-43).
Jesus’ glorified body should
pique our excitement about heaven. We will have a new look—one we will enjoy
throughout eternity.
Grant me on earth what
seems Thee best, till death and heaven reveal the rest.
