Ecclesiastes 8:4
Were the word of a king is, there is power…
In Bible
times, a king’s word carried tremendous power. What he decreed would come to
pass. It would be done. For example, if he said, “Raise the taxes,” the taxes
would be raised.
Do you know
that we are kings? The Bible tells us that Jesus has washed us from our sins
with His blood and made us kings. (Revelation 1:5–6) And as kings in Christ,
our words carry power too.
When we
place our hands on a sick person and say, “Be healed,” the person is healed.
When we lay hands on our children and say, “Be blessed,” our children are blessed.
There is power in our words because they are the words of kings!
When I was a
young Christian in my teens, I wanted to practice what I had learnt about the
power of my words. There was this particular plant near my home and whenever I
passed by it, I would say to it, “Be cursed in Jesus’ name!”
Many days
passed. And I will never forget the day when I noticed that the leaves of the
plant had turned brown! You may want to try this at home with your potted
plants, but bless them instead!
Since our
words carry power, can you imagine the harm we do when we say to our loved ones
things like, “You are always so careless”, “You are good for nothing” or “You
are so stupid”? We are cursing them!
The devil is
happy when you use the power of your words against yourself and your loved
ones. He wants to see you defeated. So instead of saying, “I am always short of
money,” say, “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.” (Psalm 23:1) Instead
of saying, “I am so useless. I can’t do anything,” start saying, “I can do all
things through Christ who strengthens me.” (Philippians 4:13)
Beloved,
remember that as a king, what you say will come to pass because where the word
of a king is, there is power. So learn to say what God says about you in His
Word and see His promises come to pass in your life!
Thought For The Day
As kings in
Christ, our words carry power. When we speak God’s promises, they will come to
pass.
Keep Good Company

TODAY'S
SCRIPTURE:
"Do not be deceived: ‘Evil company
corrupts good habits.'"
(1 Corinthians 15:33, NKJV)
(1 Corinthians 15:33, NKJV)
TODAY'S WORD:
Sometimes, in order to embrace the
destiny God has in store, you have to be willing to make some changes in your
life. You have to be willing to examine where you are and what you need to move
forward. This may mean that you need to change some friends that you’re
spending time with. Maybe they were fine for a season in your life, but now
you’ve outgrown them. This is a new season, and in order for you to rise
higher, you have to break away from relationships that are limiting you. You
have to develop some new relationships with people who are going to pull you up
and inspire you to rise higher.
This doesn’t just mean separating yourself from people who are holding you back spiritually. I’ve found that if you’re the smartest one in your group, your group is too small. Find people who are smarter than you, people who will challenge you to stretch to the next level and become everything God’s created you to be. Remember, he who walks with the wise becomes wise. Choose your friends wisely and don’t be deceived. Choose your friends wisely so you can walk and live in the destiny God has in store for you!

PRAYER FOR
TODAY:
Father God, thank You for Your grace
and mercy. Thank You for the good plan You have for my life. Help me choose my
friends and companions wisely so that I can continue to move forward in the
destiny You have for me in Jesus’ name. Amen.
The Spirit of Adoption
By Joyce Meyer - Posted July 09, 2017
For [the Spirit which] you have now received
[is] not a spirit of slavery to put you once more in bondage to fear, but you
have received the Spirit of adoption [the Spirit producing sonship] in [the
bliss of] which we cry, Abba (Father)! Father!
—Romans 8:15
—Romans 8:15
The apostle Paul teaches us that the Holy Spirit is the Spirit
of adoption. The word adoption means that we are brought into the family of
God, even though we were previously outsiders, unrelated to God in any way. We
were sinners and separated from God, but God in His great mercy redeemed us,
purchased us, and brought us close to Him once again through the blood of His
own Son.
We understand adoption in the natural sense. We know that some
children without parents are adopted by people who purposely choose them and
take them as their own. What an honor to be chosen on purpose by those who want
to pour out their love on them.
This is exactly what God did for us as believers in Christ.
Because of what Jesus did for us on the cross, we are now eternally part of His
family, and His Spirit dwells in our spirit and cries out to the Father. God
the Father decided before the foundation of the world was laid that anyone who
loved Christ would be loved and accepted by Him as His child. He decided He
would adopt all those who accepted Jesus as their Savior. We become heirs of
God and joint heirs with His Son, Jesus Christ.
It is the knowledge of our
family relationship to God that gives us boldness to go before His throne and
let our requests be made known.
