Romans 8:33
Who shall bring a charge against God’s
elect? It is God who justifies.
The book of
Job tells us that Satan came to God’s throne and complained about Job. (Job
1:6–12) God’s throne is the most holy place. So why did God allow Satan to come
before Him?
Satan could
come before God because Adam had given up his place when he bowed his knee to
Satan in the garden of Eden. (Genesis 3) So Satan had the right to take Adam’s
place and come before God.
But praise
God, Jesus, the last Adam, has come! And the sprinkling of His blood has
cleansed the things of heaven. (Hebrews 9:22–24) His blood has cleansed and
redeemed the unclean place where Satan walked and stood before God. There remains,
therefore, no place in heaven for Satan. He cannot come before God any more to
accuse you.
Who then, is
in God’s presence today? Jesus! He is there for us. (Hebrews 9:24) And since He
is for us, “Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, and furthermore is
also risen, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession
for us.” (Romans 8:34)
So what
happened to Job cannot happen to you. Job longed for a mediator, but he had
none. (Job 9:33) His dream is our reality. Today, we have Jesus as our Mediator
making intercession for us! (1 Timothy 2:5)
However,
since the devil cannot come before God any more, he comes to you on earth and
accuses you in your conscience. His greatest tool is deception because he has
no real power. (Colossians 2:15) He has to deceive you into thinking that God
is against you, that He is angry with you because you have failed Him, or that
your sickness or poverty is God’s punishment for your sins.
My friend,
don’t fall for the devil’s lies. If it is God who justifies you, no one can
bring a charge against you! Satan cannot come before God to accuse you.
Instead, you have free access to God’s throne of grace to “obtain mercy and
find grace to help in time of need”. (Hebrews 4:16) Jesus’ holy blood has given
you perfect standing in the presence of God!
Thought For The Day
If it is God who
justifies you, who can bring a charge against you?
The Highest Position of All

He who is greatest among you shall be your servant. Whoever exalts
himself [with haughtiness and empty pride] shall be humbled (brought low), and
whoever humbles himself [whoever has a modest opinion of himself and behaves
accordingly] shall be raised to honor.
—Matthew 23:11-12 AMPC
—Matthew 23:11-12 AMPC
Jesus was able to wash His disciples'
feet because He was free. Only a person who is truly free, one who is not
insecure, can do menial tasks and not feel insignificant as a result.
So much of our worth and value is
connected to what we do that it makes it very difficult for us to enjoy
serving. Serving others is not viewed as a high position, and yet Jesus said it
is the highest of all. Serving others also sets them free to love. It disarms
even the most hateful individual. It is actually fun to watch that person's
amazement when he realizes he is being served through love.
If someone knows full well he has done
us wrong, and we return his evil with good, it begins to tear down the walls he
has built around himself. Sooner or later he will begin to trust us and start
learning from us what real love is. That is the whole purpose behind being a
servant, to show others the love of God that He has shown us so that they too
can share in it—and then pass it on.
Free from Shame

TODAY'S
SCRIPTURE:
"Let my heart be sound (sincere
and wholehearted and blameless) in Your statutes, that I may not be put to
shame."
(Psalm 119:80 AMPC)
(Psalm 119:80 AMPC)
TODAY'S WORD:
Did you know the Word of God will
protect you from shame and embarrassment? God’s laws, or statutes, were
established for your good. God sent His Word to guide and protect you. When you
follow His commands, you can be sure that you are making clear, sound choices.
You can have confidence knowing that you are making the very best decisions.
When negative, accusing thoughts come, you have to know that those are not from God. They are from the enemy. In fact, the Bible calls him the “accuser of the brethren.” That means he’s trying to make you feel guilty, shameful and condemned. He’s trying to make you second guess yourself. But remember, the enemy is already defeated! Because of what Jesus did on the cross, you are free from shame! The enemy has no legal power over you unless you open a spiritual door to him. Keep the doors closed by submitting yourself to God and His Word. Ask the Lord to give you a whole and blameless heart to follow His commands. As you do, you will walk in His protection and guidance and live free from shame today and all the days of your life!

PRAYER FOR
TODAY:
Father, thank You for Your Word which
guides and protects me. Thank You for giving me the ability to make right
choices according to Your Word. Give me a sincere and blameless heart that I
may serve You all the days of my life in Jesus’ name. Amen.
