Behold, God is my helper and ally; the Lord is my upholder and is
with them who uphold my life.
—Psalm 54:4
—Psalm 54:4
There are many people who have received
Jesus as their Savior and Lord who will live their Christian lives and go to
heaven without ever drawing on the power of the Holy Spirit available to them,
never experiencing the true success God intends for them. People can be on
their way to heaven, yet not enjoying the trip.
We often look at people who have
wealth, position, power, fame, and consider them to be totally successful. But
many people who are viewed as successful still lack good relationships, peace,
joy, contentment, and other true blessings that are available only in the
context of a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ.
Self-sufficient people often think it
is a sign of weakness to depend on God. But by drawing on the ability of the Holy
Spirit, they could accomplish more in their lives than they could by working in
their own strength.
There are countless things we struggle
with when we could be receiving help from the Holy Spirit. Many people never
find the right answers to their problems because they seek out the wrong
sources for advice and counsel instead of asking the Divine Counselor who lives
within them for guidance.
I encourage you to lean on God for
everything, and that means little things as well as big things.
Love God Today: The only way to experience the success God intends for you is to
become totally dependent on the Holy Spirit.
GOD WANTS YOU FREE FROM WORRIES

Matthew 6:25
“Therefore I say to you, do nor worry
about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body,
what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than
clothing?
Is your
heart full of worries about your health, finances, family or future? Even when
all is well, some people still worry because they have heard others say, “You
should worry when everything is peaceful because something is wrong when the
devil leaves you alone.” So they worry even when there is nothing to worry
about!
But Jesus
does not want you to worry about what you will eat or drink, or about your body
and what you will put on your back. He tells you not to worry about your daily
provisions because God, who is your heavenly Father, knows that you need all
these things and He wants to add these things to you. (Matthew 6:32–33)
God is the
same God who took care of the children of Israel in the wilderness, feeding
them with manna every day for 40 years! (Exodus 16) Under His care, His people
had no lack. When the people wanted meat for dinner, He simply rained quails on
them. (Numbers 11:31–32) The children of Israel only had to pick them up. If
they had gone to look for meat themselves, they probably would not have found
any in the desert.
The problem
with us today is that we think that we must do something to help ourselves.
Some of us may even think that it is easy for Jesus to say, “Don’t worry. Take
no thought for your life,” because He does not understand the problems we face
in life.
But the
truth is that Jesus understands the problems we face in life. In fact, He faced
what I would call the “final problem”—death. Death is the “final problem”
because it puts an end to all our other problems. Jesus faced death at the
cross, conquered it and rose from the dead. And because He conquered the
problem of problems, we can trust Him when He tells us not to worry!
Thought For The Day
Don’t
worry. Jesus, who has conquered the problem of problems, will take care of you.
He's Working in You

TODAY'S
SCRIPTURE:
"…he who began a good work in you
will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus."
(Philippians 1:6, NIV)
(Philippians 1:6, NIV)
TODAY'S WORD:
Sometimes when God is doing a work in
our lives, it can begin to feel a little uncomfortable. We may encounter people
who are hard to get along with or have circumstances that seem beyond our
control. When this happens, instead of complaining, getting sour or trying to
change everything around you, why don’t you look deep inside and say, “Lord,
thank You for doing a work in me.” See, I’ve learned that God is more
interested in changing me than He is in changing my circumstances. If I choose
to stay sour because I’m not getting my way or discouraged because things aren’t
happening on my time table, that’s going to keep me right where I am.
If you want to see change, if you want to see God open up new doors, the key is to bloom right where you're planted. You can’t wait until everything gets better before you decide to have a good attitude. You have to be the best that you can be right where you are. When you bloom where you’re planted, you’re allowing God to work in you, and He will be faithful to complete what He’s started in you!

PRAYER FOR
TODAY:
Father God, thank You for doing a work
in me. I choose to align myself with Your plan by blooming where I’m planted.
Help me, by Your Spirit, to be an example of Your love and life everywhere I go
in Jesus’ name. Amen.
