Romans 8:35
Who shall separate us from the love of
Christ? Shall tribulation, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril,
or sword?
The pastor
of our Hokkien and Mandarin congregations, Pastor Mark, used to suffer from
certain health problems before he became a Christian. His doctor told him that
he had to be on medication for life. He also had a huge financial debt. But
when he caught hold of the teaching that he is God’s beloved, he believed it
totally. He also believed that nothing could be greater than God’s love for
him.
Today,
Pastor Mark is off medication and completely delivered from that debt. God
caused him to triumph over his sickness and debt because he cannot be defeated
when he knows that he is God’s beloved.
Tribulation,
distress or persecution cannot stop your heavenly Father’s love from working on
your behalf. His love for you is bigger and stronger than your financial woes,
marital problems or health concerns. And when God’s heart of love moves for His
beloved, He opens doors that no one can shut and He makes a way when there
seems to be none.
Even during
lean times, you will never find the righteous forsaken. King David said, “I
have been young, and now am old; yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken,
nor his descendants begging bread.” (Psalm 37:25) Can famine or recession stop
God’s love from providing for His beloved? No! So don’t think to yourself, “I
must provide for my family. If I don’t, who is going to take care of them? How
are they going to survive?” God wants you to know that His love will continue
to provide abundantly for you and your family.
What about
deadly pestilences such as bird flu and mad cow disease, natural disasters such
as tsunamis and earthquakes, or terrorist bombings? My friend, these things
cannot devour you because His love protects you. You will enjoy His protection
when you know that you are His beloved.
Because
God’s love is greater than all the evil put together, we are more than
conquerors through Christ who loved us. (Romans 8:37) We always win in the
fight of life not because of our love for Him, but because of His love for us!
Thought For The Day
We always win in the
fight of life not because of our love for Him, but because of His love for us!
Keep Life Interesting

Whatever may be your task, work at it heartily (from the soul), as
[something done] for the Lord and not for men.
—Colossians 3:23
—Colossians 3:23
Life wasn’t meant to be dull and
boring. We are not created by God to merely do the same thing over and over
until it has no meaning at all. God is creative. If you don’t think so, just
look around you. Many of the animals, bugs, plants, birds, trees, and other
living things are unique, out of the ordinary, and totally amazing.
You were created to be unique, out of
the ordinary and totally amazing too. That is why I think it is good to
occasionally do something that seems outrageous to people and perhaps even to
you. Do something that people won’t expect. It will keep your life interesting
and keep other people from thinking they have you tucked away nicely in a
little box of their own design.
One great woman who was seventy-six
years of age said that her goal was to do at least one outrageous thing per
week. Isn’t that a great idea? If you purposefully do something out of the norm
on a regular basis, this will keep you from getting stuck in a rut, bored and
unenthused about your life.
What outrageous thing will you do
today?
Refuse to be bored and just limp along through life. Be creative
and add fun to whatever you do.
The Secret Things

TODAY'S
SCRIPTURE:
"The secret things belong unto the
Lord our God…"
(Deuteronomy 29:29, AMP)

TODAY'S WORD:
Are you going through a situation in
your life that you don’t quite understand? During these uncertain seasons, it’s
natural to question things in your mind. But in order to move forward, we have
to look forward with our hearts. We have to look beyond the questions and
continue to trust in Almighty God.
Serving God means we’re going to have some unanswered questions. You may never understand why a relationship ended sooner than you would have liked. You may never understand why you lost a loved one. You may never understand why you went through something difficult or why your prayers didn’t get answered. But at some point, you have to decide to put your questions aside and go on with God. We have to decide to trust His character even when our circumstances don’t make sense. The Bible tells us that adversity will come, but God is the one who promises to lead us into victory. He has promised that He’s going to turn that difficulty around and use it for your advantage. He is faithful to His Word, and you can be sure that He will fulfill every promise He’s made to you.

PRAYER FOR
TODAY:
Father God, I choose to trust You with
my unanswered questions. I choose to release any doubt and confusion to You.
Help me to focus on Your Word which is truth that sets me free. Thank You for
Your goodness and for the blessings You have in store for me in Jesus’ name.
Amen.
A Poll of Lies
By DR. David Jeremiah –

Therefore, putting away
lying, “Let each of you speak truth with his neighbor,” for we are members of
one another.
Ephesians 4:25
Ephesians 4:25
Recommended Reading: Ephesians 4:25-32
What many Americans most
remember about the Rio Olympics is the scandal created by swimmer Ryan Lochte
and his friends when they lied about getting robbed. That one falsehood cost
Lochte his major sponsors, his prime endorsements, millions of dollars of income,
and his good name. But Lochte isn’t the first to swim in a pool of lies.
Because of our sinful nature, lying comes to us as naturally as talking. When
faced with damaging or embarrassing situations, we somehow try to invent lies
on the spot; then we fabricate more lies to sustain the original ones. Before
long, we’re in the deep end of the pool of deception.
The best way to prevent lies
is to live above reproach and avoid doing anything about which we’ll be tempted
to lie. If we don’t misbehave in the first place, we have less reason to want
to lie. But even if we do find ourselves in a situation tempting us to lie, we
must not do it. The Bible commands us to speak truthfully to our
neighbors—which includes our husband or wife—and to live by a simple maxim:
Jesus-followers are truth-tellers.
A lie is like a
snowball; the further you roll it the bigger it becomes.
