Proverbs 19:12
The king’s wrath is like the roaring of
a lion, but his favor is like dew on the grass.
The Bible
tells us that the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may
devour. (1 Peter 5:8) But have you ever wondered why he acts like a roaring
lion?
It has
something to do with a lion’s roar. In the Bible, the roaring of a lion speaks
of the king’s wrath—“The king’s wrath is like the roaring of a lion”. So when
the devil walks about like a roaring lion, he is trying to give you the
impression that the King is angry with you. And when you believe that God is
angry with you, the devil knows that he has got you.
When you
think that God is angry or displeased with you, you will not be confident of
His love toward you. Instead, you will expect and fear punishment from Him. And
you will want to stay away from Him because you do not wish to incur His wrath
any further.
But the
truth is that God is not angry with you, even when you fail or blow it, because
all your sins have already been judged in the body of His Son at the cross. As
the Lamb of God, Jesus became your burnt offering. That is why He said, “I
thirst.” (John 19:28)
Those who
heard Him say that at Calvary that day thought that His thirst was physical.
Actually, His thirst was spiritual because He was being “burnt” by the fire of
God’s wrath. He was being judged for our sins. His body exhausted all of God’s
wrath until every claim of God’s holiness was satisfied and His wrath appeased!
Now, there
is a law called “the law of double jeopardy”, which states that the same crime
cannot be tried twice. Today, the fire of God’s wrath will never fall on you as
a believer because it has already fallen on His Son at the cross. He judged
your sins then, but in the body of His Son.
So right
now, you are not under the King’s wrath but His favor. And His favor rains down
on you like dew on the grass every morning!
Thought For The Day
You are not
under the King’s wrath but His favor.
Give What You Have

They said to Him, We have nothing here but
five loaves and two fish. He said, Bring them here to Me. Then He ordered the
crowds to recline on the grass; and He took the five loaves and the two fish,
and, looking up to heaven, He gave thanks and blessed and broke the loaves and
handed the pieces to the disciples, and the disciples gave them to the people.
— Matthew 14:17-19
— Matthew 14:17-19
One of the biggest mistakes we can make
in life is to focus on what we don't have or have lost and fail to take an
inventory of what we do have. When Jesus desired to feed five thousand men—plus
women and children—the disciples said all they had was a little boy's lunch,
which consisted of five small loaves of bread and two fish. They assured Him it
was not enough for a crowd the size they had. However, Jesus took the lunch and
multiplied it. He fed thousands of men, women, and children and had twelve
baskets of leftovers (see Matthew 14:15-21).
If we will just give God what we have,
He will use it and give us back more than we had to begin with. The Bible says
that God created everything we see out of "things that are unseen,"
so I have decided that if He can do that, surely He can do something with my
little bit—no matter how unimpressive it is.
Lord, thank You for all You have given me. I ask You to use it for
Your glory and to provide all that I need. Amen.
Faith in Action

TODAY'S
SCRIPTURE:
No unbelief or distrust made him waver
(doubtingly question) concerning the promise of God, but he grew strong and was
empowered by faith as he gave praise and glory to God.
Romans 4:20 AMPC
Romans 4:20 AMPC
TODAY'S WORD:
In the same way that exercise makes
your physical body grow strong, putting your faith into action through prayer
and thanksgiving will cause your faith to grow strong, too. I love what this
verse says about Abraham: No unbelief made him waver regarding the promise of
God. What does it mean to waver? To waver means to go back and forth. It's a
very unsteady posture. Spiritual wavering is when we go back and forth in
believing the promises of God. Wavering shows up in our words and actions.
Notice this verse didn't say that Abraham never had unbelief or doubtful
thoughts. It tells us that he didn't let those thoughts cause him to waver in
his words, actions and resolve. He took captive every thought and stood strong
through His praise and worship! Remember, praise makes you stable; it makes you
strong. Put your faith into action by thanking and praising Him all throughout
the day!
PRAYER
FOR TODAY:
Father, today I choose to bless You no
matter what is going on around me! I thank You for life. Thank You for breath.
Thank You for provision, healing, strength and joy. I praise You for abundantly
supplying all of my needs so that I can be a blessing to others in Jesus' name.
Amen.
Spring Cleaning—Attitudes

Flee also youthful lusts;
but pursue righteousness, faith, love, peace with those who call on the Lord
out of a pure heart.
2 Timothy 2:22

In her book Spring
Cleaning, homemaker
Monica Nassif wrote, “The urge arrives several weeks before it’s warm enough to
open windows, on the first nice day when an extra glint of sunlight draws
attention to a cobweb in a corner or a streak on the floor caused by tracked-in
slush…. It’s time for spring cleaning.”1
Recommended Reading: 2 Timothy 2:14 – 26
For the Christian, every day
is for spring cleaning—we’re to keep our hearts and lives tidy, holy, pure, clean,
and fit for the Master’s use. The apostle Paul told Timothy to consider his
life a “great house” to be filled with gold and silver and honorable objects (2
Timothy 2:20). Any dishonorable content was to be purged. According to Paul, we
should flee youthful lusts and fill our lives with righteousness, faith, love,
and peace.
Perhaps you’ve allowed
discontentment to grow in the corners of your heart—attitudes like
discouragement, grumbling, self-pity, or irritation. It’s time for spring
cleaning. Sweep away the old, and let God furnish your life with the fruit of
the Spirit—love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
gentleness, and self-control.
Though we as Christians
are like Christ, having the first fruits of the spirit, yet we are unlike him,
having the remainders of the flesh.
