GOD CAN USE THOSE WHOM THE WORLD
REJECTS

1 Corinthians 1:26
For you see your calling, brethren,
that not many wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are
called.
You may
think that you are a nobody, maybe even a has-been or a loser in the eyes of
the world. Take heart because God’s Word says that if you are not wise, not
mighty or not noble according to the flesh, then you are a prime candidate for
Him to call on! And when He begins to use you, you will see His favor, power
and increase change your life.
In the eyes
of the ancient world, Moses was the rising star of Egypt. The Bible tells us
that in the first 40 years of his life, “Moses was learned in all the wisdom of
the Egyptians, and was mighty in words and deeds”. (Acts 7:22) But God could
not use him then because he was too smart, strong and full of himself.
It was only
40 years later, after having been in the unglamorous desert of Midian, emptied
of himself and thinking that he was a has-been, that God sent him to confound
the might of Pharaoh.
The world
may pass them by—the weak, the small, the forgotten and the losers, but God
chooses them to confound those mighty in the world.
I know this
to be true. As a little boy, I grew up facing rejection and ridicule because of
my Indian-Chinese racial mix. And as a teenager, I was the butt of many jokes
because of my stammering and stuttering.
When I was
in my teens, I remember praying to God, “I don’t know what I can do for or give
You, but You got me—spirit, soul and body.” I don’t know how many times I
prayed that prayer. But I knew that God heard me because He called me. Only God
would dare choose me, a stammerer and stutterer, to pastor a church for Him
that has since grown to more than 30,000 members today.
I know what
I was and where I came from. I know I have done nothing and can do nothing
apart from His anointing and grace in my life.
My friend,
when you think that you are weak and small compared to others in the world,
that is when God can use you to do great and wonderful things for Him!
Thought For The Day
God chooses the weak, the small, the
forgotten and the losers to confound those mighty in the world.
Your Heredity Can't Stop Your
Destiny

TODAY'S
SCRIPTURE:
"…If God is for us, who can be
against us?"
Romans 8:31, NIV
Romans 8:31, NIV
TODAY'S
WORD:
I heard somebody say, "Don't let
your heredity stop your destiny." In other words, don't let the way
somebody treated you or what they did or didn't give you keep you from pressing
forward and becoming all that God has created you to be. The people who raised
you may have had addictions, but that doesn't have to be your future. You can
be the one to break that negative cycle. Your parents may have had anger issues
or never amounted to much, but you don't have to keep letting that curse be
passed from generation to generation. You can be the one to say, "No more.
This is a new day! I may have had an unfair past, but I'm not going to have an
unfair future. I know that God put a blessing on me before anybody could put a
curse, and I'm not going to let my heredity stop my destiny."
Today, know that God is for you. When you choose to put Him first place in your life, then nothing can stop your destiny! Seek Him with a humble heart and break free from the bondage of the past!
Today, know that God is for you. When you choose to put Him first place in your life, then nothing can stop your destiny! Seek Him with a humble heart and break free from the bondage of the past!
PRAYER
FOR TODAY:
Father, thank You for empowering me by
Your Holy Spirit. Thank You for giving me new life and erasing my past. I
declare today that no weapon formed against me shall prosper in Jesus' name.
Amen.
War Heroes

Greater love has no one than this, than
to lay down one’s life for his friends.
John 15:13
John 15:13
Recommended Reading: John 19
When a person willingly puts their life
on the line for the protection of another, or for a cause they believe in, they
are revered and respected. If they lose their life, they are remembered as a
hero. Their actions demonstrate a tangible expression of sacrificial love in
the face of danger. The essence of heroism is protecting others and the greater
good even if the cost is one’s own well-being and life.
When Jesus came to earth as a human, He
gave up the perfection of heaven. He limited Himself to a fragile human body
and life with the purpose of protecting us from eternal separation from God.
While we don’t often refer to Jesus as a war hero—because the war is largely
invisible—He courageously stepped into the fray and became the recipient of the
death designated for us. Jesus surrendered His life to win the war being fought
over our souls. His destruction bought our freedom.
A person’s life is his most precious
possession. Consequently, to rob him of it is the greatest sin we can commit
against him, while to give one’s own life on his behalf is the greatest
possible expression of love for him. This, then, is the ultimate contrast:
Cain’s hatred issued in murder, Christ’s love (issued) in self-sacrifice.

God Speaks a Fresh Word

Seek, inquire of and for the
Lord, and crave Him and His strength.…
—Psalm 105:4
—Psalm 105:4
When
King Jehoshaphat heard that a huge army was amassing to attack Judah, he knew
what to do. He needed to set himself to seek not the advice of the people, but
to seek God and hear directly from Him.
No doubt, Jehoshaphat had been involved in other battles before
this one, so why couldn't he use the same methods he had employed in previous
situations? No matter how many times something has worked in the past, it may
not work to solve a current crisis unless God anoints it afresh. He may anoint
an old method and choose to work through it, but He may also give us brand-new
direction, instructions we have never heard before. We must always look to God,
not to methods, formulas, or ways that have worked in the past. Our focus, our
source of strength and supply, must be God and God alone.
Jehoshaphat knew that unless he heard from God, he was not going
to make it. The Amplified Bible calls his need to hear God's voice "his
vital need." It was something he could not do without; it was vital. It
was essential to his life and the survival of his people.
You may be in a situation similar to Jehoshaphat's. You, too,
may need a fresh word from God. You may feel that, like a drowning man or
woman, you are going under for the last time. You may be desperate for a
personal word from God in order to survive.
God wants to speak to you even more than you want to hear from
Him. Seek Him by giving Him your time and attention, and you won't be
disappointed.
God’s Word for You Today: Be open to hear a fresh word from God
today.
