LET JESUS WASH YOUR FEET

By Joseph Prince – Posted April 24, 2017

John 13:8
Peter said to Him, “You shall never wash my feet!” Jesus answered him, “If I do not wash you, you have no part with me.”

Can you imagine the Lord wanting to wash your feet? Peter could not. His shocked reaction—“Lord, how can you wash my feet!”—would probably be ours too.

I want you to notice what the Lord said to him: “Peter, if I don’t wash your feet, you have no part with Me.” What the Lord was actually saying to Peter was, “Peter, you cannot flow together with Me, you cannot walk together with Me in ministry, in service and in effectiveness, if you don’t let Me wash your feet.” So Peter said, “Lord, [wash] not my feet only, but also my hands and my head!” (John 13:9)

But Jesus answered him saying, “He who is bathed needs only to wash his feet, but is completely clean; and you are clean…” (John 13:10)

Once we have accepted Christ as our Lord and Savior, we are bathed all over, and cleansed by His blood once and for all eternity! His blood has perfected us forever (Hebrews 10:14), and we only need to wash our feet because we walk in the world and our feet pick up dust and dirt, causing us to stumble.

So how is Jesus washing our feet today? Ephesians 5:25–26 tells us that “Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her, that He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the Word”.

We, the church, are cleansed with the washing of water by the Word. The more we come under anointed teaching that unveils Christ through the Word, the more the cleansing goes on. And as our feet are washed, instead of stumbling, we will be walking and even running!

Today, though high and lifted up in heaven, Jesus is dressed in a robe with a golden girdle around his chest. (Revelation 1:13) Like a servant who uses his girdle as a towel to serve, Jesus wants us to sit down and let Him serve us—by washing our feet with a deeper revelation of Himself through His Word. Beloved, this is what gives us victory in our daily walk!

Thought For The Day

As we receive a deeper revelation of Christ through His Word, we will see victory in our daily walk!

The Written Word
By Joyce Meyer - Posted April 24, 2017

Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.
—Psalm 119:105

The Bible is written as a personal letter to you. God speaks to you, ministers to your needs, and directs you in the way you should go in His written Word. He tells you what you should do and how you should live.
It is a mistake to think we can hear clearly from God without spending time in the Word. Knowing the written Word protects you from deception. Listening for God's voice without being dedicated to spending time in the Word on a regular basis opens you up to hearing voices that are not from God. There may be times when God speaks something to you that is outside a specific chapter and verse of the Bible, but it will always be in agreement with His Word.
Tonight, spend time reading a portion of God's personal letter to you and allow Him to speak to your heart. God’s Word is one of the most precious gifts we have. Treasure it.

 Where Would You Be?
By Joel Osteen – Posted April 24, 2017

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE:

"If your law had not been my delight, I would have perished in my affliction"
(Psalm 119:92, ESV)

TODAY'S WORD:

If it had not been for the goodness of God, where would you be? Some wouldn’t be alive today. Some would still be addicted. If it had not been for God’s favor some would still be struggling, barely making it. You may say, “Well Joel, I’ve got a long way to go.” And that may be true, but I want you to take a moment and look back over your life and realize how far you’ve come. The same God that brought you this far, the same God that has kept you alive is going to carry you through any difficulty you may be facing.

The key is to just start praising and thanking Him for His goodness. Thank Him for His favor and blessing upon you. Praise precedes the victory. Praise brings the walls of opposition down. Praise is the invitation for God to intervene on your behalf! Today, I declare that the goodness of God is all over you! He is directing your steps, and you are following His leading. I declare that your best days are ahead, and as you praise Him and thank Him, you will move forward into the victory and blessing He has prepared for you!

PRAYER FOR TODAY:

Father, thank You so much for Your goodness and faithfulness in my life. I know that Your hand of favor is upon me. I know that You are leading me and guiding me in victory. Keep me close to You as I surrender every area of my heart and mind to You in Jesus’ name. Amen!

The Key to Calmness

By Dr. David Jeremiah – Posted April 24, 2017
But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
Matthew 6:33
Recommended Reading: Matthew 6:25-34
When missionary to China Alice Taylor felt nearly insane with fear because her children, who were in boarding school, had been taken to an internment camp during World War II, she remembered how her old pastor back home, Pa Ferguson, had explained Matthew 6:33. He had said to her, “Alice, if you take care of the things that are dear to God, He will take care of the things dear to you.”
Having no way to help her children, Alice took Matthew 6:33 as Gospel truth and trusted God to protect her youngsters as she faithfully tried to go about her work for Him. And in God’s perfect timing the family was gloriously reunited.
We need to allow God to take care of the things hurting us, while we pray about the things that are hurting His heart. If you have cares and concerns right now—especially issues over which you have little or no control—leave them in God’s hands and spend your time serving rather than stressing. If we take care of the things that are dear to God, He will take care of the things dear to us.
For our family that advice from Pa Ferguson long years ago will always hold special meaning. I pass it along to you, for it is truly so.
Alice Taylor
