Galatians 3:13
Christ has redeemed us from the curse
of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, “Cursed is
everyone who hangs on a tree)”,
Many
believers probably know that when Jesus died, our sins were forgiven because He
shed His blood. Without the shedding of blood, there is no forgiveness of sins.
(Ephesians 1:7, Hebrews 9:22) But why did Jesus have to die on the cross, since
the capital punishment of Israel during the time of Christ was stoning and not
crucifixion?
Jesus hung
and died on the cross because He knew the law which says that “he who is hanged
is accursed of God”. (Deuteronomy 21:23) He wanted to redeem us from every
curse of the law, so He went to the cross, “having become a curse for us”.
Jesus took all our curses at the cross, so that we can take all His blessings!
The moment
you received Jesus, every curse in your life was destroyed. And the way you
experience this is to simply believe and confess what Jesus has done for you.
Say, “Because of Jesus, I am blessed.” The more you say it and believe it, the
more you will experience it.
So if there
is an area in your life in which you feel oppressed, for example, a skin
condition that refuses to heal, say, “Christ has redeemed me from this skin
condition. I refuse it and reject it in Jesus’ name because by His stripes I am
healed!” (1 Peter 2:24) Believe it and say it until you see it!
“But Pastor
Prince, my father died of cancer. His father died of cancer. And I have been
told by my doctor that there is a likelihood that I might get it too. It’s in
our blood!”
My friend,
the blood of Christ shed at the cross has redeemed you from all curses,
including diseases like cancer! God put the curse of cancer on Jesus at the
cross. And He put all the blessings of Jesus on you. Therefore, expect
only the blessings of Jesus to come upon you and overtake you!

You Can’t Drive a Parked Car

Establish my steps and direct them by [means of] Your word.…
—Psalm 119:133
—Psalm 119:133
People often ask, "How do I know
what God wants me to do with my life?" Some spend many years being totally
immobile because they are waiting to hear a voice from heaven telling them what
to do. My best advice to anyone in this position is to simply do something. Do
what you think God might be calling you to do and if you make a mistake, He
will help you correct it. Don't spend your life so afraid of making a mistake
that you never try to obey what you believe God has spoken to you.
I like to say, you can't drive a parked
car. You need to be moving if you want God to show you which way to go. He has
no need to say to you, "Turn left" if you are not going anywhere. But
if you are moving, He can give you directions.
Let me insert a word of wisdom here.
There are certainly times when we need to be still, wait on God, pray, and not
take immediate action. But that does not apply to every situation. There are
times when the only way we can discover God's will is to get moving in a
certain direction and let Him speak to us and lead us as we go. If you are
going in the wrong direction, He’ll close that door and open another one.
Focus
on What You Have

TODAY'S
SCRIPTURE:
Here is what I have seen: It is good and fitting for one to eat
and drink, and to enjoy the good of all his labor in which he toils under the
sun all the days of his life which God gives him; for it is his heritage.
Ecclesiastes 5:18, NKJV

TODAY'S WORD:
The scripture talks about how God has
given us the power to enjoy what is allotted and appointed to us. That simply
means that I don’t have the power to enjoy your life. You may have more
success, more money, more friends or a better job, but if you put me in your
life, I’m not going to enjoy it. We are uniquely designed to run our own race.
When we truly understand and embrace this, we won’t be tempted to compare or wish we had what someone else has. You won’t think, “If only I had their talent…” No, if God wanted you to have that talent, He would have given it to you. Instead, take what you have and develop it. Make the most of it. Don’t think, “If only I had her looks…” No, God gave you your looks. That’s not an accident. The life you have has been perfectly matched for you.
Now, you’ve got to do your part and get excited about your life. Be excited about who you are—your looks, your talent, your ability, your personality. When you’re passionate about who you are, it brings honor to God. That’s when God will breathe in your direction and the seeds of greatness in you will take root and begin to flourish!

PRAYER FOR
TODAY:
Father, I thank You for giving me the
gifts, talents and abilities to enjoy life and accomplish Your will. Today, I
choose to put my trust and hope in You knowing that You have equipped me for
the destiny You have for me in Jesus’ name. Amen.
Toward Revival

Examine
me, O LORD, and prove me; try my mind and my heart.

Reading: Psalm 139
Metallurgy
was in its pre-industrial stages in biblical times. The process involved the
application of intense heat to ores, which caused the desired metal—gold,
silver, copper, tin—to separate and liquefy. Refinement by heat was used as an
image of spiritual purification in the Old Testament (Zechariah 13:9; Malachi
3:2). The image of testing by fire is also applied to Christians—the Judgment
Seat of Christ will determine whether the believer’s works have had value or
not.
The notion
that impurities in life may impede spiritual progress and revival is
well-documented in Scripture. Perhaps the best example is David’s desire for
cleansing in his life: “Search me, O God, and know my heart; try me, and know
my anxieties; and see if there is any wicked way in me, and lead me in the
way everlasting” (Psalm 139:23-24). Personal revival begins with the search
for, and purging of, impurities—things offensive to God that will block the
Spirit’s work. Such purging begins with known impurities and can continue with
David’s prayer, asking God to reveal things of which we are unaware.
To move
toward revival in your life, ask God to show you the condition of your heart.
Pure
gold shows its purity chiefly in the furnace.
