Deuteronomy 28:10
Then all peoples of the earth shall see
that you are called by the name of the Lord, and they shall be of you.
Today, we
are called by the name of Christ—Christians. Therefore, the blessing of
Deuteronomy 28:10, which says, “Then all peoples of the earth shall see that
you are called by the name of the Lord” is no longer just a promise but
reality!
The second
part of the verse—“and they shall be afraid of you”—is also true for you.
People will respect you. Your boss will favor you and even your competitors
will esteem you highly. They know that there is something special about you
because good things happen when you are around!
I
experienced this blessing when I first started working. I worked in a small
third-floor office which constantly smelled of salted fish because there was a
salted fish stall on the ground floor. It was in that small, dingy office that
I kept on confessing that I was blessed by the Lord, and I experienced divine
favor with my clients. My boss could see that there was something different
about me.
The
company’s business flourished and before long, we moved out of that small
office to a building which in the mid-eighties was considered an information
technology hub. There, we occupied a couple of offices, and started
specializing in computer software and courses. Soon, we occupied the entire
floor! That was how much God was prospering us.
God was also
blessing me tremendously. I was drawing a very good monthly income, enjoying
the favor of my boss and was in his inner circle. A few years later, I decided
to go into full-time ministry. When I broke the news to my boss, he cried. I
never knew how much I meant to him until then. It was only then that I realized
what a blessing I had been to him by the grace of God.
Beloved,
because you are also called by the name of the Lord, wherever you go, you are a
blessing. His blessing is on you. The people around you will look at you and
know that you are a blessing going somewhere to happen!
Thought For The Day
Because the
blessing of the Lord is upon you, good things happen when you are around!
Doing Things God’s Way

I am the Way.…
—John 14:6
—John 14:6
Many people are hurting so badly, and
they are crying out for help. The problem is, they are not willing to receive
the help they need from God. No matter how much we may want or need help, we
are never going to receive it until we are willing to do things God's way. In
John 14:6, Jesus said, "I am the Way." What Jesus meant when He said,
"I am the Way," is that He has a certain way of doing things; and if
we will submit to His way, everything will work out for us.
But so often we wrestle and struggle
with Him, trying to get Him to do things our way. It just won't work. How many
times have people stood in front of me at the altar and told me all kinds of
terrible things that are going on in their lives and how badly they are hurting
yet they absolutely refuse to do what they are told to do to receive the help
they need. Too often people are trying to find some other way to get help
rather than by doing things God's way.
The Bible plainly teaches that if we
will learn and act on the Word, God will bless our lives. Let me give you an
example. The Bible teaches that we are to live in harmony and peace with others
and to forgive those who have done us wrong. If we refuse to do that, what hope
do we have of receiving what we need?
I remember how difficult it was for me
the first time the Lord told me I had to go to my husband and tell him I was
sorry for being rebellious against him. I thought I would die on the spot! I
realize that one reason we don't always do what we are told to do in the Word
of God is because it is hard.
If we don't do what we can do, then God won't do what we can't do.
If we will do what we can do, God will do what we can’t do. It’s just that
simple.

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE:
"God replied to Moses, ‘I Am Who I Am…’"
(Exodus 3:14, NLT)
(Exodus 3:14, NLT)
TODAY'S WORD:
In the Bible, God has many names that
describe His character and attributes. In the same way that someone named “Joe”
might also be called “father” or “husband” or “the boss,” God has names that
describe Him and His relationship to His people.
In the Old Testament, the Hebrew name for “God” was considered so holy that the people wouldn’t even say it. So, when God appeared to Moses in a burning bush and sent him to lead the Israelites out of captivity, Moses asked God, “Who should I say sent me?” After all, he couldn’t breathe the name of God in public. God replied by saying, “Moses, My name is I Am.” In other words, “I am anything and everything you need. I am your joy. I am your peace. I am your strength. I am your victory. I am your way of escape. I am whatever you need.”
Today, God is saying the same thing to us! What is it that you need? The Great I Am, the Almighty God is ready to supply all of your needs according to His riches in glory. Open your heart of faith to Him today and receive all of the blessings He has in store for you!

PRAYER FOR
TODAY:
Father in heaven, today I call on
You—the Great I Am. I surrender myself to You—spirit, soul and body. I ask that
You direct my steps and supply every one of my needs as I move forward in
obedience to Your Word in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Give us this day our
daily bread.
Matthew 6:11
Matthew 6:11
According to data from
the Bank for International Settlements and the International Monetary Fund, in
2015 between $21 trillion and $32 trillion was hidden in offshore accounts
worldwide. The same research showed that approximately 10 million individuals around
the world have money hidden offshore to avoid their home country’s taxes.
Besides avoiding taxes,
people hide money in large amounts as a hedge against an uncertain future—a
nest egg to draw from in case of a collapse (even if it means paying taxes).
Such reserves might be a good example of something Jesus said not to do: lay up
treasures on earth instead of in heaven (Matthew 6:19-21). In fact, Jesus said
not to worry about the future at all, using birds as an example (Matthew 6:26).
With the dawning of each new day, birds look for “daily bread.” That doesn’t
mean we shouldn’t save and plan ahead. But it does mean our trust should be in
the Father to whom Jesus told us to pray, “Give us this day our daily bread.”
Even if you have what you
need today, praying for daily bread is a good prayer to pray. It reminds us
that God is our source for every need. Everything we have comes from Him (1
Chronicles 29:14).
Power to live a new life
depends upon daily communion with the living Lord.
