JESUS’ BLOOD STOPS EVIL IN ITS TRACKS

By Joseph Prince – Posted May 7, 2017

Leviticus 1:11
He shall kill it (the burnt sacrifice) on the north side of the altar before the Lord; and the priests, Aaron’s sons, shall sprinkle its blood all around on the altar.

In the Bible, the north of Israel was a source of trouble for the nation. It was from Israel’s north that destruction poured forth. (Jeremiah 1:14–15) Israel’s enemies came from the north. (Jeremiah 6:1, 22–23) The north is thus a picture of evil in the Bible.

Interestingly, the animal for the burnt sacrifice was killed “on the north side of the altar”. The burnt sacrifice speaks of Jesus who gave Himself as “an offering and a sacrifice to God” for us. (Ephesians 5:2) Calvary, where Jesus was crucified, and the Garden Tomb, where His empty tomb is, are located to the north of Jerusalem. In other words, Jesus died in the north, from where evil comes against His people.

This means that Jesus’ death stops evil in our lives when we, who are priests of the Most High God (Revelation 1:6), speak His blood over our lives, just like how Aaron’s sons sprinkled the blood of the burnt offering all around on the altar.

This was the case for a church member who was serving in the army. He testified about how God preserved His life when a thunderstorm struck while he was carrying out sentry duty in a tower in his army camp. The rain kept him stranded in the tower which had a metal-framed window.

Suddenly, a bright purplish flash lit up right next to him, stunning him completely and almost throwing him off balance. A bolt of lightning had struck the lightning rod on the roof and the electricity was conducted through the metal-framed window causing the purple flash. But the blood of Jesus on him protected him from harm!

Praise Jesus, whose blood stops evil in its tracks! It does not matter what the devil sends your way. As long as you are covered with the blood of Jesus, no evil can harm you!

Thought For The Day

Jesus’ death stops evil in our lives when we speak His blood over our lives.

No “Ifs”
By Joyce Meyer - Posted May 07, 2017

For I am persuaded beyond doubt (am sure) that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities, nor things impending and threatening…nor anything else in all creation will be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
—Romans 8:38-39

To fully understand all the different facets of love, we must talk about the two kinds of love: the God-kind of love and man's love. Man's love fails, gives up; but God's love does not. Man's love is finite, comes to an end; but God's love is infinite and eternal. Man's love is dependent on favorable behavior and circumstances; God's love is not. People place conditions on their love, but God's love is unconditional.
According to God's Word, He loved us before the world was formed, before we loved Him or believed in Him, or had ever done anything either good or evil. God does not require us to earn His love, and we must not require others to earn ours. As believers in Jesus Christ, the love we are to manifest to the world is the unconditional love of God flowing through us to them.
Loving people unconditionally is a very big challenge. I would be tempted to say it's impossible, but since God tells us to do it, surely He must have a way for us to do it. Sometimes we pray to be able to love the unlovely and then do our best to avoid every unlovely person God sends our way. Learning to walk in love with unlovely people and learning to be patient in trials are probably the two most important tools God uses to develop our spiritual maturity. Believe it or not, difficult people in our lives help us. They sharpen and refine us for God's use.
Love Others Today: "Lord, help me to love others today without imposing 'ifs' or conditions. Let me remember that as I do it, I'm being refined by You."

 Speak Life
BY Joel Osteen – Posted May 7, 2017

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE:

The tongue has the power of life and death…
Proverbs 18:21, NIV

TODAY'S WORD:

God has given us amazing power through the use of our words. God created the world with the words He spoke, and we also have creative power with the words that we speak.

Maybe you aren’t where you want to be in life today. Could it be because of the words you’ve spoken in your past? Have you spoken words of death by saying things like, “I’ll never rise any higher; I’ve gone as far as I can go?” Or maybe you’ve said, “I’ll never break this addiction. I’ve had it too long; it’s too hard.” Now you are eating the fruit of those words—you’re still in the same place.

If you are ready to change your situation, then it’s time to change what you say about your situation. If you want a different harvest, you have to change the seeds you are sowing. Today, choose to speak life over your future. Let your attitude be, “This may be the way it’s been in the past, but this is not the way it’s staying. I’m coming up higher. I may feel weak, but my declaration is that I am strong.” Speak life, choose life, and move forward in His victory and blessing.

PRAYER FOR TODAY:

Father in heaven, I repent for speaking words of death and sowing defeat in my own life. I ask that You uproot any negative crop from the past and help me speak words of faith so that I can walk in victory in every area of my life in Jesus’ name. Amen.
